Becoming an AHA Instructor with HCI

Becoming an AHA Instructor with HCI

You have already become certified in the American Heart Association Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support or Pediatric Life Support.

Have you wondered what it would be like to be an instructor? You can become an AHA instructor with training at HCI.

HCI is an authorized AHA training center. That means that medical professionals can get their AHA certifications through HCI. Becoming an AHA instructor involves first being certified in the discipline that you want to teach and then becoming a certified instructor.

Available AHA Instructor Courses

BLS instructors will be qualified to teach the AHA Basic Life Support certification courses. BLS instruction involves knowing how to teach high-quality CPR, child and adult resuscitation and safety measures, rescue breathing and relief of choking for adults and children.

ACLS instructors teach skills in how to evaluate and manage a sudden adult respiratory arrest, VF/VT arrest, asystole, and pulseless electrical activity. They also teach skills in bradycardias, stable and unstable tachycardias, acute coronary syndromes and acute stroke.

PALS instructors work specifically with providers who want to treat children. They teach skills in recognition and treatment of infants and children at risk for cardiopulmonary arrest and the systematic approach to pediatric assessment. Other skills that PALS instructors will learn how to teach include effective respiratory management, defibrillation and synchronized cardioversion, intraosseous access and fluid bolus administration, as well as effective resuscitation team dynamics.

Becoming a Certified AHA Instructor

By the time you complete your AHA instructor training at HCI, you will know how to teach these concepts and skills to other people. You will also get to practice your new instructor skills a few times.

Becoming an AHA instructor with HCI is low stress. You are able to learn and grow as a professional with your training because we want students to be comfortable with their learning journey. Ask questions and practice what you learn in a low-stress environment.

Once you have completed your AHA instructor, you can apply for certification. Now you are able to become an AHA instructor at authorized AHA training centers that are looking for instructors. You could also teach AHA classes at companies. Contact us to learn more about our AHA instructor courses.
