Fire Officer II is the level two of Fire Officer. The role comes with more responsibilities and is the next step in a Fire Officer career within the fire department. As a Fire Officer II, you could be managing multiple fire departments, making personnel decisions, and creating the operational strategy.
The Fire Officer II is a mid-level professional within the fire department. Fire Officers at this level will know how to prepare a department budget, write press releases and speak to the public, and fire safety inspection. They also know how to design and deliver firefighting courses to firefighters.

What ist he Fire Officer II Program at HCI?
The Fire Officer II program at HCI is a hybrid program. That means that you can take many of the courses online, but one of the courses will have some on-campus time.
What courses do you take to go from Fire Officer I to Fire Officer II at HCI? Fire Officer II students take the following courses: Fire Prevention Practices, Private Fire Protection Systems 1, Fire Fighting Tactics & Strategy II, and Fire Service Course Design (Blended).
The online courses teach you more about the fire service and firefighting. You also learn more about the role of a Fire Officer II and get the skills you need to take on this role in the community.
Fire Service Course Design is a blended course. This one takes part partially on campus. It is a very hands-on course so that the Fire Officer understands how to design an effective Fire Service course for firefighters in their departments.
