Below are some of the programs that are available if you are interested in continuing your education at HCI.
Prehospital Trauma Life Support – Developed by the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians (NAEMT), Pre-hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) is recognized around the world as the leading continuing education program for pre-hospital emergency trauma care. The PHTLS objective is to promote excellence in trauma patient management by all providers involved in the delivery of pre-hospital care through education.
Paramedic & EMT Refresher – Both the Paramedic and EMT Refresher Course is designed to update and refresh your original training and prepare you for the renewal of your EMT and/or Paramedic Certificate.
Basic-ECG Course – A Basic-ECG course is designed to provide students with a basic understanding of rhythm seen in a variety of cardiac conditions. As a prerequisite for the 12-Lead ECG course, Basic-ECG will help students determine the difference between normal and abnormal basic cardiac rhythms. The ECG helps gives professionals information about rate and rhythm and about individual areas of the heart.
12-Lead ECG Course – In a 12-Lead ECG course, you will learn about the parts of an ECG. The 12-Lead ECG course typically requires a prerequisite of a Basic-ECG course, which will provide you with the skills to be able to read and understand the basics of the ECG. As you become more skilled throughout your course, you will learn how to detect different pathological and physiological problems such as genetic disorders, hypothermia, myocardial infarction , and structural heart disease.
